Program Coordinator for the Sexual Assault Program. Serves in administrative role managing the day-to-day operations, grant administration, and supervising staff and volunteers. Ms. Murgittroyd also provides general counseling services for MSU students and invididual therapy and advocacy services for sexual assault trauma survivors. Special interests include addressing violence against women, global human rights, antiracism/anti-oppression work, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender issues, social justice, public health, holistic medicine and healing, existentialism, and spiritual exploration.

Areas of clinical interest include individual and group counseling for people who have experienced sexual violence. Treatment is empowerment-focused and informed by research in trauma and trauma response. Special attention is given to cultural and social influences of trauma and healing, as well as a person's cognitive, emotional, and physical experiences.

Provides individual and group therapy for people who have experienced sexual violence. Integrative treatment approach includes expressive techniques, imagery-based strategies, body-based therapy, and empowerment focus. Therapy is informed by neurobiological basis of trauma response, consideration of cultural and interpersonal responses, and building upon individual and community strengths. Also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).
